Day Seven: Would the member for SCBC please go to bed!

A HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MRS MARWOOD who has shared her birthday with us all on the trip today. The students showered her with love and birthday singing on the bus.

Today we visited parliament house and were able to see the functioning of the peoples' house. Student's were able to view the houses and different displays about the magna carta and previous prime ministers. Our guides were able to answer all the questions we had about how the parliament works.

One of the highlights of the trip was our visit today to the war memorial. What an amazing and special place! The students were so reverent around the displays and memorials. Our tour guides were excellent in telling us stories of soldiers in WW1 and showing us around the exhibits. Some students had an opportunity to write on a cross that will be sent to overseas ANZAC graves.

Mrs Beard and some of our students were able to find relatives on the roll of honour and leave a poppy in remembrance.

The students are starting to feel the toll of the long days and getting closer to the end of the week. Some don't want the trip to end, whilst others are just about ready to head home.

Last stop is Questicon tomorrow and then it's time to head home!!

The QANTAS website currently says that our flight is on time, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night! :)
